Launcelot Hugh Ross (1885-1956)
RCAHMS: RIAS Collection
These drawings show a proposed design for a bank by Launcelot Hugh Ross. It does not appear to have been built within the King's Park area of Glasgow, if at all. Ross was an accomplished draughtsman as can be seen by the quality of this drawing. Although banks are not always popular places, this one looks inviting and less overbearing than many.
Launcelot Ross played a major role in the design and execution of the Glasgow Empire Exhibition of 1938, being involved with the Army and Royal Air Force Pavillion, Palace of Art and the Tower of Empire building.
