Glasgow School of Art, Glasgow

Despite its strength and austerity, this northern façade of the School is a complex play of curves and straight lines, plain geometric shapes and organic motifs, delicate wrought iron work and solid stonework.

Frances Newbury the head of the School had specified the size of the studio windows and the resulting elevation where the percentage of the glass outweighs the stonework was astonishing and innovative for its time.
